Connect with Each Other ...
Life Groups --Many of our members participate in our Life Life Life Life Group- Each group is made-up of 8 to 12 people and meet in our building and or a member's home usually on a Tuesday evening . The meetings usually last from about 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and include supper and an informal discussion on a story from the Bible.
Coffee Row -- We meet each Tuesday at 9:00 for coffee and breakfast at Jane's Place in Piccadilly Mall. Join us and get to know us on a casual basis. We would love it! Ladies Bible Classes -- Each Monday morning at 10:00 several ladies get together for a time of fellowship and Bible Study. Topics range from a book of the Bible, to study of a spiritual topic (i.e. angels, or forgiveness), to sharing thoughts from a book someone's read. (Sept. - June) During the summer we meet on the 3rd Monday for a sharing time and prayer. You are always welcome. (during the summer we meet on the third Monday only) Family Camp -- Every Labour Day Weekend many of our members enjoy a weekend retreat at Double VM Camp in Cherryville, BC. Though there's almost no set schedule, recreational activities have included croquet, swimming, pick-up baseball, crafts, and paint ball. We enjoy sharing the weekend with several friends from the Vernon Church of Christ and friends of our members. |
Connect with our Community ...
Churches of Salmon Arm Thrift Store -- Our members volunteer at one of the local thrift stores in town. We're there to help sort, stock, bale clothing for missionary families, and represent the love of Jesus in to our community.
Second Harvest Food Bank -- Like any other town, there are individuals and families in Salmon Arm who sometimes have a hard time making ends meet. The Second Harvest Food Bank is open Wednesday evenings and Friday afternoons giving food to those in need. In the summer months, there's often plenty of produce donated by local farms and orchards! Coldest Night of the Year -- Several of us participated in this walk to raise money and awareness for the homeless and hurting in our community. With the funds we helped raise this year, the shelter will be able to install showers and laundry facilities for their clients. Women's Shelter -- We help support the local women's shelter with donations of cash, food, clothing and household items. The Salmon Arm shelter provides discreet housing for abused women and their children. Operation Christmas Child -- Each year we help Samaritan's Purse provide small gifts at Christmastime for needy children all over the world. World Bible School -- WBS provides free Bible correspondence courses to thousands of people around the globe. Some of our members donate their time (and postage!) as "study helpers" to WBS students. |
